Your first visit is designed to be seamless, informative, and personalized. You'll meet Dr. Boroun, receive a comprehensive exam with X-rays, and explore the treatment options best suited to your needs.
Please bring the following to your first visit:
Any panoramic X-ray taken within the past six months
Your orthodontic insurance card (if applicable)
Providing this information will help us give you an accurate cost estimate at your first visit
Seamless Scheduling
Orthodontic visits every 4–8 weeks are key to ensuring your treatment stays on track. We work with your schedule to make appointments convenient and consistent.
Comprehensive Care
We recommend routine dental checkups every 3–6 months and coordinate with your dentist as needed to ensure optimal oral health throughout treatment.
Consultation
Records
Records Appointment
After your consultation, your next visit is the Records Appointment. During this visit, we take:

A digital scan of your teeth

An additional orthodontic X-ray called a Lateral Cephalogram
In many cases, records can be taken on the same day as your consultation to save you an additional visit and help you get started on your orthodontic journey sooner.
Adult patients
For adult patients, we also require a periodontal and restorative clearance letter from your dentist or periodontist before starting orthodontic treatment. This clearance helps confirm that your teeth, gums, and supporting bone are healthy enough to safely withstand orthodontic forces. Our office will contact your dentist or periodontist directly to request and follow up on this clearance.
These records help Dr. Boroun finalize your customized treatment plan.
Braces
Braces Placement Appointment
If you are getting braces, your next visit after records will be your braces appointment.

Appointment length: 75–90 minutes

Scheduled: In the morning
During this appointment, we will place your braces and review all care instructions — including eating, brushing, flossing, and what to expect during the first few days.
Appliances
Appliance Appointments
If you are getting an appliance, such as an expander, we'll schedule your next two visits before you leave the office:
Separator Appointment
Appointment length: About 15 minutes
A short visit where we place small round rubber separators between your back teeth to gently create space for the appliance.
Appliance Delivery Appointment
Appointment length: 30–45 minutes · Scheduled: In the morning
We place the appliance and review all home-care instructions, including eating, cleaning, and how to take care of the appliance.
Aligners
Aligner Delivery Appointment
This appointment is usually scheduled 4–6 weeks after your Records Appointment.

Appointment length: 60–75 minutes
During this visit, we place the attachments on your teeth based on Dr. Boroun's customized attachment design for your specific treatment needs. We'll also practice how to place and remove your aligners, review home-care instructions, and answer all your questions.
Ongoing Treatment Visits

After your appliance, braces, or aligners are delivered, your follow-up visits are usually scheduled every 4–8 weeks, depending on your treatment stage and Dr. Boroun's recommendation.

It is the patient's responsibility to schedule their next appointment before leaving the office. If you don't have an upcoming appointment scheduled, please call our office as soon as possible.

Keeping regular adjustment appointments allows us to monitor progress, make sure everything is moving as planned, and help finish your treatment on time.
